With economic growth rapidly rising in the past decade, a large number of coal-fired power plants were constructed by us in recent years to cope with power shortages.

We produce enough electricity to power tens of millions of homes and businesses and provide our customers with around-the-clock, low costs, and low carbon electricity that helps the world reach their carbon-reduction goals.

Coal continues to be our energy system’s largest single source. We have ramped up coal purchases from sources throughout the globe.
